I’m Corey. I’m a qualified Hobart carpenter — Certificate III in Carpentry, twenty years on the tools, fifteen of them building structural frames. I’ve worked on everything from a full house build in Caulfield to a deck in Darwin, and now the work is all here in Tasmania. FairFix is my one-person carpentry business, so the person you talk to on the phone is the same person who turns up in the ute.
There is no small job and no big job — there is just work that needs doing properly. I take on the sticking door, the split weatherboard and the wonky handrail with the same care I bring to a full extension. If it can be fixed properly for less than replacing it, that’s what I’ll tell you. If it needs replacing, I’ll say that too and quote it fairly.
Most of my work in Hobart falls into a few honest buckets: timber framing and structural, timber decks and stairs, exterior cladding and weatherboard repairs, timber fences and gates, doors that don’t shut anymore, and one-off custom builds when someone has a picture in their head that’s hard to buy off a shelf. If you’re not sure whether what you need counts as carpentry, send me a photo — I answer texts.
I’m fully insured, GST registered, and I hold ABN 95 386 997 041. I never dress up my qualification. A Certificate III in Carpentry is a trade qualification — it’s not the same thing as being a builder, and blurring that line is how homeowners get burnt. What I do have is twenty years of finishes I’m happy to put my name on and a Google Business Profile full of five-star reviews from Hobart neighbours.
I quote free, I quote in writing, and I tell you up-front whether the job needs anyone else on it (a builder qualified to sign off structural work on bigger scopes, an electrician for anything with wiring in it). No surprises on the invoice — the number in the quote is the number on the bill unless you ask for something extra along the way, in which case I agree the extra with you before it starts.
Hobart, Kingston, Sandy Bay, Bellerive, Howrah, Glenorchy, Claremont and everywhere in between. Call or text me on 0434 727 099, or send through the quote form below and I’ll come back to you the same day.
Quality work, on time, and very professional. Weatherboards they repaired made my house look unbelievable, very happy with it.
Had a media wall with LED lights built for my mum and we both couldn't be happier with the result. The workmanship was excellent, everything was done professionally and to a really high standard. Would definitely recommend!
Thank you Corey for the wonderful work you did, installing our canopy. We are so happy to finally have shelter from the wind and rain. We will definitely consider you in the near future.
